Temple MedFlight

In March 2006, Temple Transport Team and Temple University Health System expanded the program's critical care transport capabilities by adding a 24/7 air medical program. Our air medical program, Temple MedFlight, currently operates in partnership with AirMethods Corporation, providing 24/7 critical care transport to the Eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, New York and Maryland area(s).

Temple MedFlight operates from its base located at Doylestown Hospital in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, providing emergency/9-1-1 response capabilities to the Bucks, Montgomery, Chester and Berks County areas in addition to inter-hospital transfers and organ retrievals. The program operates an EC-135 T3 with a cruising speed of 157 mph and primary operating range of 75nm (with a secondary range of 100nm). The aircraft is outfitted with the latest technologies in safety, including Weather Radar, Night Vision Goggles (NVGs), Terrain Awareness Warning System (TAWS) and Satellite Phone/Tracking Services, in addition to a progressive Cockpit Resource Management (CRM) program.

Dispatch services for the aircraft are handled by AIRCOMM, T3C3 and Transfer Center, in addition to other local municipalities 9-1-1 centers, to quickly dispatch and flight-follow the aircraft.

Aviation services are provided by Air Methods Corporation.
